$4.95M ConnectOnCall Class Action Settlement Resolves Lawsuit Over 2024 Data Breach

ConnectOnCall has agreed to a $4.95 million class action settlement to resolve a lawsuit that alleged the after-hours call-answering service failed to safeguard sensitive information from a months-long 2024 cybersecurity incident.

The ConnectOnCall class action settlement was preliminarily approved by the court on July 27, 2026. Eligible to participate in the settlement are all living United States residents whose private information may have been impacted in the data breach, which occurred between February and May 2024.

The court-approved website for the ConnectOnCall data breach settlement can be found at ConnectOnCallSettlement.com.

ConnectOnCall settlement class members who file a timely, valid claim form can receive up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses incurred because of identity theft or fraud, falsified tax returns, or other misuse of personal information due to the data breach.

Class members must submit proof, such as bank statements or receipts, to receive a documented-loss payment.

In lieu of a documented-loss payment, class members can file a claim form to receive a pro rata cash payment of up to $75. The final amount of each class member’s cash payment will be based on the total number of valid claims filed, among other factors.

To receive either cash benefit, class members must attest that they communicated after-hours with a healthcare provider or office between May 12, 2014 and May 12, 2024.

Lastly, all class members can elect on their claim form to receive two years of CyEx Medical Shield Complete, which includes dark web monitoring and medical identity theft insurance.

To submit a ConnectOnCall settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the unique ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Class members who do not have a unique ID and PIN can file a claim here.

Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete and return by mail to the settlement administrator.

All ConnectOnCall settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by November 2, 2026.

The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the ConnectOnCall settlement following a hearing on November 17, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.

The ConnectOnCall class action lawsuit alleged that the after-hours on-call answering service for healthcare providers failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures to protect private information from a data breach that occurred between February 16 and May 12, 2024.

Court documents state that private information that may have been compromised in the data breach included names, addresses, telephone numbers, information related to health conditions, treatment or prescriptions, as well as certain patient-provider communications.
