The court-approved website for the Accu-Time Systems finger-scanning settlement can be found at AccuBIPASettlement.com.
Per the website, Accu-Time settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form are eligible to receive a one-time cash payment estimated to be between $100 and $500. The final amount of this cash payment may become pro-rated depending on the amount of valid claims filed and what remains in the settlement fund after the payment of attorneys’ fees, lead plaintiff service awards, and settlement administration costs.
Class members can choose to receive their payout via check or electronic payment, the site says, and checks must be cashed within 120 days after issuance before expiration.
To submit an Accu-Time BIPA settlement claim form online, class members can go to this page and enter the unique claim ID and PIN listed on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF of the claim form here, complete it, and return it to the address of the settlement administrator listed at the bottom of the document.
All Accu-Time settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by March 12, 2026.
The court will decide whether to grant final approval to the Accu-Time Systems biometric privacy settlement at a hearing on April 1, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to consumers only after final approval and any appeals are resolved.
As part of the agreement, the settlement also stipulates that Accu-Time must comply with all policy and consent requirements under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).
The Accu-Time class action lawsuit alleged that the company violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act by collecting and storing the biometric information of employees across dozens of companies through its finger-scanning time clocks. The lawsuit argues that Accu-Time was not in compliance with BIPA because it did not issue notice to consumers about the nature of the biometric data collection nor did it obtain their consent.
