Did You Receive a Loan Acceleration Letter?

This week, we have an investigation into letters sent by Wells Fargo stating that customers’ mortgage loans could be accelerated if they fail to pay the overdue amount by a certain date. Details below.

Also in this issue, attorneys are continuing their investigation into so-called social casino platforms. Plus, new lawsuits have been filed over marketing texts that may violate the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and “hypoallergenic” body wash that may contain a known allergen.

Wells Fargo Investigation: Illegal Notice of Default Letters?

If you fell behind on mortgage payments and received a letter from Wells Fargo related to your non-payment, you aren’t alone—and you may be able to help get a lawsuit on file. Attorneys are looking into whether the mortgage servicer sent notice of default letters that may have falsely implied that homeowners’ loans would be accelerated if they failed to pay the money they owed within a certain time frame. Crunch Fitness Member? Sign Up and Take Action

Attorneys suspect that Crunch Fitness may be failing to adequately disclose its hefty annual fee (which ranges from $39 to $89) when consumers sign up for a membership online. Specifically, they believe that the additional cost may be intentionally hidden in fine print and until the end of the signup process to deceive the customer into thinking the membership price is lower than it actually is. Read up on how you can take action here.

Dove Body Wash Lawsuit Questions Hypoallergenic Claims

The company behind Dove beauty products is facing a proposed class action lawsuit that claims the brand’s Sensitive Hypoallergenic Body Wash isn’t as free of allergens as consumers have been led to believe.
