Issue #293

Engine Failure in Yukon, Tahoe and Escalade Vehicles?

In this issue, we’ll touch on the slew of reports from certain Yukon, Tahoe and Escalade drivers stating that the vehicles’ engines can suddenly lose power and how a lawsuit could help compensate drivers and hold General Motors accountable.

From there, attorneys are investigating a handful of products advertised as “naturally flavored” that may contain synthetic ingredients. You can find the details below.

Then, attorneys suspect that GlassesUSA.com and ZenniOptical.com may be secretly sharing user data with Facebook – plus, a lawsuit has been filed over the alleged presence of harmful chemicals in certain BIC shaving razors. Keep reading for the latest.

Yukon, Tahoe and Escalade Drivers Report Engine Failures

Did the engine fail while driving your 2019-2024 GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe or Cadillac Escalade? If so, you aren’t alone, as a handful of drivers have reported that their 6.2L engines unexpectedly lost power while the cars were in motion. Attorneys are now looking into whether the engines are defective and, if so, whether a class action lawsuit can be filed against General Motors. A successful lawsuit could help compensate drivers for repair and replacement costs. So, if you own or lease a 2019-2024 GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe or Cadillac Escalade and your 6.2L engine failed while you were driving, share your story with us here and you may be able to help get a lawsuit on file.

Are Your “Natural” Products Artificially Flavored?

When we buy foods and products advertised as “naturally flavored” or containing “no artificial flavors,” we reasonably assume that there are zero synthetic flavoring ingredients present – but attorneys working with ClassAction.org suspect that this isn’t always the case. They’re now investigating whether certain food and supplement products contain an artificial flavoring agent known as DL-malic acid despite being labeled as flavored with natural ingredients. If so, it’s possible that class action lawsuits could be filed on behalf of buyers. There are several products being investigated (from HumanN SuperBeets heart chews to Vitafusion Fiber Well Gummies), so head to this page for a full list.

Are GlassesUSA.com, ZenniOptical.com Sharing Your Data?
GlassesUSA.com and ZenniOptical.com offer a simple way to order new glasses online – select your frame of choice, choose your lenses and add your prescription details – but attorneys working with ClassAction.org have reason to believe that this information, as well as unique identifiers that can match this data with an individual’s Facebook profile, could be getting improperly shared with Meta. If you made a purchase on either site within the past two years, you may be able to join others taking action. Learn more here.
Lawsuit Claims BIC Shaving Razors Contain Toxic Chemicals
A recently filed lawsuit is alleging that BIC USA has failed to disclose that its shaving razors contain PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” a large group of manufactured chemicals that have been linked to cancer and other serious health effects. PFAS are included in the lubricating coating on the razor blades, the suit alleges, adding that reasonable consumers wouldn’t suspect this to be the case as the razors come with no warning about the presence of harmful synthetic chemicals. Want more? You can read up on the allegations being made and find a list of the products in question here.
