Filed: February 5, 2018 ◆§ 2:18-cv-00916-R-KS
A wage and hour complaint against HMS Host USA, Host International and HMS Host Family Restaurants has been bumped to District Court in Los Angeles.
California
A proposed class action filed in November 2017 against Host International, Inc., HMS Host USA, Inc. and HMS Host Family Restaurants, Inc. over suspected California labor law violations has been sent from Los Angeles County Superior Court to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. The plaintiff, a former Host employee, alleges the defendants:
- Failed to pay proper minimum and overtime wages;
- Illegally calculated workers’ overtime pay rates;
- Failed to provide meal and rest periods;
- Failed to properly maintain employee work records;
- Failed to provide employees with itemized wage statements for each pay period;
- Failed to reimburse employees for work-related expenses; and
- Required and or permitted employees to work off-the-clock without pay.
The lawsuit further claims the defendants have failed to pay proper wages to former employees who left as a result of quitting or termination.
