The Forbes class action lawsuit alleged that the company illegally disclosed subscriber information through a Facebook tracking pixel, a web tracker embedded into Forbes.com that transmitted data directly to the social media giant. The class action suit asserted that Forbes, by sharing users’ personal information without permission, violated the federal Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA).
The company removed the tracking pixel from its website’s video pages on December 1, 2022, court documents note.
