Sportsman’s Warehouse Settlement Ends Class Action Lawsuit Over Alleged Data Sharing for Firearms Purchases

Sportsman’s Warehouse has agreed to a settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit that alleged the outdoor sporting goods retailer unlawfully disclosed information about Pennsylvania residents’ firearm purchases to third parties without consent.

The Sportsman’s Warehouse class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on March 19, 2026. The deal covers all Pennsylvania residents who ordered and reserved a firearm from the Sportsman’s Warehouse website for purchase to be completed in-store from January 1, 2020 through March 13, 2024.

According to the settlement agreement, class members who submit a timely, valid claim form can receive a cash payment of up to $107. The amount of this cash payout may be adjusted on a pro rata basis, depending on the total number of valid claims filed.
To submit a Sportsman’s Warehouse claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the unique ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
All Sportsman’s Warehouse settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by June 19, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant the Sportsman’s Warehouse settlement final approval following a hearing on July 31, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The Sportsman’s Warehouse class action lawsuit alleged that the outdoor gear retailer shared information about consumers’ online firearms purchases with third parties, such as Meta and Listrak, without consent, in violation of the Pennsylvania Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance Control Act and Pennsylvania Uniform Firearms Act.
