The Hire Velocity class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on May 20, 2026. Eligible to participate in the settlement are all living United States residents who were sent a written notice from Hire Velocity that their private information may have been compromised in the cyber incident affecting the company in February 2025.
The court-approved Hire Velocity settlement website can be found at HireVelocitySettlement.com.
Settlement class members who file a valid, timely claim form can receive up to $2,000 in reimbursement for out-of-pocket losses stemming from the Hire Velocity data breach. This benefit covers losses from identity theft or fraud and costs for professional fees, credit monitoring, freezing/unfreezing credit, notary fees, postage and more.
Class members must submit documentation, such as emails or receipts, to receive a documented-loss payout.
In lieu of a documented-loss payment, class members can file a claim for a $40 cash payment, with no proof required.
Lastly, all class members can elect on their claim form to receive two years of three-bureau credit monitoring, which includes dark web monitoring, Social Security number scanning, high-risk transaction monitoring and more.
To file a Hire Velocity settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the class member ID found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
Hire Velocity claim forms must be filed online or by mail by November 30, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Hire Velocity data breach settlement following a hearing on December 15, 2026. Settlement benefits will be made available after the deal receives final approval and any appeals are resolved.
The lawsuit against Hire Velocity alleged that the staffing firm failed to adequately protect the sensitive data on its systems from a cybersecurity incident on or around February 17, 2025. Information possibly exposed in the incident included the names and Social Security numbers of certain employees, clients and contractors, the suit said.
