Advanced Recovery Equipment & Supplies has agreed to a settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit that alleged the medical supplier failed to protect sensitive information in its care from a 2023 data breach.

The Advanced Recovery Equipment & Supplies class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on April 28, 2026. The deal covers all United States residents whose personally identifiable information was compromised in the data breach announced by Advanced Recovery in or around October 2024.
Court documents state that approximately 67,000 people are covered by the settlement.

Advanced Recovery settlement class members who file a timely, valid claim form can receive up to $750 for documented “ordinary” losses incurred due to the data breach. This benefit covers bank fees, long-distance phone charges, cell phone charges and other miscellaneous expenses, as well as the purchase of credit reports, credit monitoring or identity theft insurance.
Class members can also submit a claim form to receive up to $3,500 for documented “extraordinary” losses stemming from the breach, including losses resulting from identity theft, fraud, falsified tax returns or other misuse of their personal information not already covered by the ordinary-loss payment.
Class members must submit proof, such as bank statements or receipts, to receive payment for documented losses.
Additionally, all class members can file a claim form to receive a cash payment of up to $50, with no proof required.
Finally, all class members can submit a claim form to receive two years of one-bureau credit monitoring and identity theft insurance.
To submit an Advanced Recovery settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login and password found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
All Advanced Recovery claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by August 24, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant the Advanced Recovery settlement final approval following a hearing on September 24, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The Advanced Recovery Equipment & Supplies class action lawsuit alleged that the New York City-based medical equipment supplier failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures to prevent a data breach sometime between June 27, 2023 and July 28, 2023.
Per court documents, private information that may have been compromised in the breach includes full names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver’s license or state ID numbers, payment card details, financial account information, online account credentials, medical information and health insurance information.
