Sugared + Bronzed, LLC (S+B) has agreed to a $750,000 settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit that alleged the beauty services provider used the Klaviyo platform to send telemarketing texts even after consumers opted out of receiving the messages.

The Sugared + Bronzed class action settlement received preliminary court approval on July 17, 2026. Eligible to participate in the settlement are all individuals in the United States who received two or more telemarketing text messages from or on behalf of S+B, using the Klaviyo platform, in a 12-month period between August 14, 2020 and July 17, 2026, after S+B or Klaviyo received an inbound stop message from the phone number that was texted, such as “STOP,” “UNSUBSCRIBE,” “NOOFFERS,” “NO OFFERS,” “OPT OUT,” “END” or “QUIT.”
Court documents state that approximately 18,389 people are eligible for the class action settlement.

Sugared + Bronzed settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form can receive a pro rata cash payment estimated to be between $110 and $222, with no proof required.
The final amount of each class member’s cash payout will be determined based on the total number of valid claims filed, among other factors.
To submit a Sugared + Bronzed settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members who received a postcard settlement notice and claim form in the mail can fill out the form and return it by mail to the settlement administrator.
All Sugared + Bronzed settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by October 2, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the S+B settlement following a hearing on November 20, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The Sugared + Bronzed class action lawsuit alleged that the beauty services provider, which specializes in spray tanning and sugaring hair removal, unlawfully sent consumers telemarketing texts after they had opted out of receiving the messages, in violation of the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Virginia Telephone Privacy Protection Act.
