The La-Z-Boy class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on October 31, 2025 and covers all individuals in California, Oregon, or Washington who purchased one or more products at a sale price on Joybird.com or in a physical store location between December 18, 2019 and October 31, 2025.
Per court documents, approximately 61,000 people across California, Oregon and Washington are covered by the class action settlement.
The court-approved website for the Joybird false advertising settlement can be found at https://JoybirdSettlement.com/.
According to the website, La-Z-Boy settlement class members have multiple options for reimbursement. Class members do not need to do anything to automatically receive a $115 Joybird voucher to be used on any future purchases within the two-year period after issuance before expiration.
Alternatively, Joybird class members who would rather receive their $115 reimbursement via check or electronic cash payout must submit a La-Z-Boy settlement claim form to indicate this preference. All checks must be cashed within 90 days of issuance before expiration, the settlement agreement outlines.
To submit a Joybird settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the class member ID number and PIN provided on their copy of the settlement notice. Consumers who believe they may be a Joybird settlement class member but did not receive a notice should contact the settlement administrator to confirm their identity and obtain their login information.
As another option, class members may download a PDF of the claim form from the settlement website to print, fill out and return by mail to the address listed near the bottom of the first page of the document.
All Joybird claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by February 13, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Joybird settlement at a hearing on March 6, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The Joybird class action lawsuit alleged that La-Z-Boy and Stitch Industries, collectively doing business as Joybird, promoted higher reference and original prices on sale-priced items online and in-store to make discounts appear larger to consumers than they actually were.
