The Albertsons class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on July 11, 2025. The deal covers anyone who, between June 1, 2023 and July 11, 2025, received two or more unsolicited marketing or sales text messages and/or telemarketing calls (other than an opt-out confirmation message) from Albertsons, Star Markets Company, Safeway or any of their affiliates or subsidiaries within any 12-month period after having already sent an opt-out request in response to the text messages.
The court-approved website for the Albertsons settlement can be found at ACITextSettlement.com.
Albertsons settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form will be able to receive a pro-rata, or equal-share, portion of the $5,950,000 class action settlement fund. The settlement website estimates that each class member’s payment will be at least $100.
To submit a claim form online, class members must visit this page and log in with the unique class member ID found in their copy of the settlement notice.
Alternatively, a PDF of the claim form is available to print, fill out and mail back to the address listed on the form.
All Albertsons settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by September 10, 2025.
A hearing is set for October 3, 2025 to determine whether the settlement will receive final court approval. Payments will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The Albertsons Companies class action lawsuit claimed that Albertsons and its affiliates and subsidiaries, including Star Markets Company, Safeway and their related companies, sent marketing and sales texts, and placed telemarketing calls, to consumers who had already opted out of receiving such messages, in violation of the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
