Pineland Community Service Board has agreed to a $475,000 settlement to conclude a class action lawsuit that alleged the behavioral health agency failed to protect sensitive information in its care from a data breach that occurred between November 2024 and January 2025.

The $475,000 Pineland Community Service Board class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on April 29, 2026. The agreement covers all residents of the United States or its territories whose private information was potentially impacted in the data breach experienced by Pineland Community Service Board in or around January 2025.
Court documents state approximately 22,787 people are covered by the class action settlement.

Pineland settlement class members who file a valid, timely claim form can receive up to $5,000 for documented losses stemming from the data breach.
Class members must submit proof, such as receipts or correspondence, to receive a documented-loss payout.
In lieu of a documented-loss payout, class members can instead file a claim form to receive an approximately $75 cash payment, with no proof required. The final amount of this pro rata payment may increase or decrease, depending on the total number of claims filed.
In addition to either monetary relief option, all class members can file a claim form to receive two years of credit and medical/healthcare data monitoring, which includes one-bureau credit monitoring and identity theft insurance.
To file a Pineland settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and log in using the CPT ID and PIN listed on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF of the claim form to print, fill out, and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
All Pineland settlement claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by September 9, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Pineland Community Service Board settlement following a hearing on October 5, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The Pineland Community Service Board class action lawsuit alleged that the Georgia-based behavioral health and community services agency failed to implement adequate cybersecurity measures to safeguard patients’ sensitive information, which allegedly resulted in a data breach between November 24, 2024 and January 20, 2025.
Per court documents, private information that may have been accessible during the breach included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical billing information, diagnosis and treatment information, dates of service, medical record information and guardian information.
