$3M+ Las Vegas Grand Prix Settlement Ends Class Action Lawsuit Over Canceled 2023 Practice Race
Jack Diep, et al. v. Liberty Media Corporation, et al.
Filed: December 26, 2023 ◆§ 2:23-cv-02124
A $3M+ Liberty Media settlement offers refunds to resolve a class action over revoked admissions to a practice race for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Liberty Media Corporation and Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. (LVGP) have agreed to a nearly $3.05 million settlement to end a class action lawsuit that alleged consumers who paid for tickets to the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix were owed partial refunds due to their admission to the FP2 free practice session being revoked without cause.

The $3,047,986 Las Vegas Grand Prix class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on March 9, 2026. The deal covers all individuals or entities who:
- Purchased a Thursday-only ticket or three-day ticket directly from LVGP, or possessed a transferred Thursday-only or three-day ticket received from a person or entity who originally purchased such tickets from LVGP; and
- Attended day one of the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix by scanning such ticket for entry before 11:59:59 P.M. on November 16, 2023.
The court-approved website for the Liberty Media Corporation class action settlement can be found at LVGP2023TicketSettlement.com.
Las Vegas Grand Prix settlement class members who purchased their tickets directly from LVGP or Liberty Media, or purchased their tickets on Ticketmaster, do not need to do anything to automatically receive a cash payment, which will be sent to their last known email address.
Class members who received a ticket from someone other than the defendants can submit a claim form to receive a cash payout from the class action settlement.
The final amount of each class member’s cash payment will depend on which tickets they purchased and the total number of claims submitted.
To submit a Liberty Media settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the notice ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete, and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
All Liberty Media claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked no later than August 27, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant the Las Vegas Grand Prix settlement final approval following a hearing on November 4, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The Liberty Media Corporation class action lawsuit alleged that Liberty Media and LVGP failed to offer refunds to ticketholders for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix whose admission to a practice race scheduled for November 16, 2023 was revoked without cause after some of the racecars involved in the practice run were damaged due to a dislodged manhole cover on the track.
