The HireVue class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on June 25, 2026. Eligible to participate in the settlement are all individuals whose biometric data was captured, collected, received through trade, obtained, possessed, stored, purchased, sold, leased, traded, profited from, and/or disseminated, disclosed, or redisclosed by HireVue, Inc. in Illinois from January 27, 2017 through June 25, 2026.
Court documents state that 91,305 people are included in the settlement class.
The court-approved website for the HireVue class action settlement can be found at VideoInterviewBIPASettlement.com.
HireVue settlement class members who file a timely, valid claim form can receive an estimated $150 cash payment.
The final amount of each class member’s cash payment may be reduced on a pro rata basis, depending on the total number of valid claims filed, among other factors.
To submit a HireVue settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Those who did not receive direct notice of the settlement can still submit a claim, but must provide proof that they completed a HireVue interview between January 27, 2017 and June 25, 2026.
Instead of submitting a claim form online, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete, and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
All HireVue settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by October 13, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the HireVue settlement following a hearing on October 28, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The HireVue class action lawsuit alleged that the AI-powered virtual interview platform unlawfully collected voiceprints and facial scans from individuals in Illinois who completed a video interview using HireVue without providing required written disclosures or obtaining consent, in violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
