$3.12M+ Finastra Technology Settlement Wraps Up Class Action Lawsuit Over 2024 Data Breach

Finastra Technology, Inc. has agreed to a $3,125,000 class action settlement to resolve a lawsuit that alleged the financial services software company failed to protect sensitive information from a 2024 data breach.

The Finastra data settlement received preliminary approval from the court on August 19, 2026. Eligible for the settlement are all living United States residents who were sent notice from Finastra that their private information may have been impacted in the data incident.

Finastra settlement class members who file a timely, valid claim form can receive up to $2,500 for documented out-of-pocket losses incurred between October 31, 2024 and November 27, 2026 because of the data breach. This benefit covers losses from identity theft or fraud and costs for credit reports, credit monitoring, freezing/unfreezing credit, replacement IDs, and more.

Class members must submit proof, such as bank statements or receipts, to receive a documented-loss payment.

In lieu of a documented-loss payment, class members can file a claim form to receive a pro rata (proportional) cash payment, with no proof required. 

Lastly, class members can elect on their claim form to receive one year of CyEx Financial Shield Complete, which includes credit monitoring and financial fraud insurance.

To submit a Finastra Technology settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete and return by mail to the settlement administrator.

All Finastra Technology settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by November 27, 2026.

The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Finastra Technology settlement following a hearing on December 14, 2026. Settlement benefits will begin to be made available only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.

The Finastra Technology class action lawsuit alleged that the Florida-based provider of financial software failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity safeguards to protect private information from a data breach that occurred between October 31 and November 8, 2024.

Court documents state that personal information that may have been compromised in the data incident included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and financial account numbers.
