The Specialty Networks class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on July 15, 2025 and covers all living U.S. residents whose private information was identified as having potentially been impacted or accessed during the data breach, including those who received a data breach notice from Specialty Networks.
Per court documents, more than 400,000 people are covered by the Specialty Networks class action settlement.
Specialty Networks settlement class members who file a timely, valid claim form may receive monetary compensation of either up to $5,000 in reimbursement for documented, out-of-pocket expenses and losses or a flat cash payment of $100, which requires no proof on the part of the claimant.
The flat $100 cash payment of $100 may be increased or decreased on a pro-rata, or equal-share, basis depending on the total number of valid claims filed, court documents note.
Per the settlement agreement, documented, out-of-pocket expenses and losses must be fairly traceable to the Specialty Networks data breach and may include:
- Professional fees such as accountant and credit repair fees;
- Unreimbursed costs, losses or expenditures related to fraud or identity theft;
- Credit monitoring costs from any credit reporting agency incurred between December 18, 2023 and the date the claim is submitted;
- Costs related to freezing or unfreezing credit with any credit reporting agency; and
- Other related expenses such as fax, postage, notary, mileage, copying and long-distance telephone charges.
Additionally, all class members can choose to receive three years of credit monitoring services, which will include:
- Dark web scanning with immediate notification of potential misuse of the class member’s personal data;
- Medical identity monitoring;
- Real-time monitoring of the class member’s credit file at three bureaus;
- Comprehensive public record monitoring;
- Access to fraud resolution agents to help investigate and resolve instances of identity theft; and
- Identity theft insurance with no deductible.
Specialty Networks has also agreed to implement various additional cybersecurity measures over an upcoming three-year period, court documents state.
ClassAction.org will update this page when the court-approved settlement website goes live.
The website—which will provide, among other information, the claim forms for class members to fill out and submit—will be live within 29 days of July 15, 2025, and settlement notices will begin to be sent out to class members a day later. Class members will have 60 days after the notices are sent out to submit their claim forms.
A hearing is set for November 13, 2025 to determine whether the Specialty Networks settlement will receive final approval from the court. The settlement payout date will most likely occur after final approval is granted.
The Specialty Networks class action lawsuit alleged that a data breach that occurred on or around December 18, 2023 and potentially exposed patients’ sensitive, personal information to unauthorized third parties was a result of the radiology and diagnostic imaging provider’s negligent cybersecurity measures.
