Robbie D. Wood, Inc. has agreed to a class action settlement to conclude a lawsuit that alleged the hazardous waste and chemical transportation company failed to protect current and former employees’ sensitive information from an October 2024 data breach.

The Robbie D. Wood class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on April 7, 2026. The deal covers all United States residents whose personal information was compromised in the data breach discovered by Robbie D. Wood in October 2024, including all who received notice about the incident.
Court documents state that approximately 3,777 people are covered by the class action settlement.

Robbie D. Wood settlement class members who file a valid, timely claim form can receive up to $5,000 for documented losses incurred between October 1, 2024 and August 5, 2026 due to the data breach. Losses covered by this benefit include expenses linked to identity theft or fraud, professional fees, postage, replacement IDs, and the costs of credit reports, credit monitoring, or freezing/unfreezing credit incurred after February 11, 2025.
Class members must submit proof, such as receipts or bank statements, to receive a documented-loss payment.
In lieu of a documented-loss payment, class members can instead file a claim form to receive an alternative $65 cash payment, with no proof required.
Lastly, in addition to either monetary relief option, all class members can file a claim form to receive an enrollment code for two years of CyEx Medical Shield Complete, which includes one-bureau credit monitoring and identity theft insurance.
To file a Robbie D. Wood settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and log in using the notice ID found on their copy of the settlement notice and their last name. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF of the claim form to print, fill out, and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
All Robbie D. Wood settlement claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by August 5, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Robbie D. Wood data breach settlement following a hearing on August 18, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The Robbie D. Wood class action lawsuit claimed that the hazardous and chemical waste transportation company operating in North Carolina, Alabama, and Texas failed to implement proper cybersecurity protections to safeguard the sensitive information of current and former employees, which allegedly led to a cyberattack on or around October 1, 2024.
Per court documents, private information that may have been exposed as a result of the breach included names, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, medical information and Social Security numbers.
