The Riverside Resort & Casino data breach settlement received preliminary approval from the court on September 4, 2026. Eligible for the settlement are all United States residents who were sent notification that their private information was compromised because of the data incident discovered by Riverside Resort & Casino in or around July 2024.
Court documents state that the personal information of 51,646 people may have been compromised in the data incident.
The official settlement website can be found at RiversideDataSettlement.com.
Class members who file a valid, timely claim form can receive up to $3,000 for documented, unreimbursed out-of-pocket losses incurred between July 25, 2024 and January 4, 2027 due to the data breach. This benefit covers expenses such as losses from fraud or identity theft and costs for credit reports, credit monitoring, freezing/unfreezing credit, replacement IDs and postage to contact banks.
Class members must submit proof, such as bank statements or receipts, to receive a documented-loss payout.
Class members can also file a claim for reimbursement of up to three hours spent responding to the data breach, at a rate of $20 per hour. This benefit covers time spent on activities such as changing passwords, investigating suspicious account activity and researching the Riverside Resort & Casino data breach.
Lost-time payouts are included in the $3,000 documented-loss payment cap.
In lieu of any other monetary benefit, class members can file a claim form to receive a cash payout with no proof required. The amount of this cash payout is expected to be $75 for California residents and $50 for residents of all other states, though the final amount may be larger or smaller depending on how many claims are filed.
The settlement website notes that all cash payments may be reduced on a pro rata (proportional) basis should the total value of all claimed cash benefits exceed $1 million.
Lastly, all class members can elect on their claim form to enroll in one year of CyEx Financial Shield Total, which includes financial fraud insurance and monitoring for fraud or identity theft, unauthorized financial transactions and personal information associated with high-risk transactions.
