The Restek class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on September 9, 2025 and covers all United States residents whose private information was potentially impacted by the June 2023 Restek data breach, including anyone who received notice about the incident.
The court-approved website for the Restek data breach settlement can be found at https://RestekDataSettlement.com/.
Per the settlement website, Restek settlement class members who submit a valid, timely claim form have multiple options for reimbursement covered by the $210,000 benefits fund. Consumers who submit with their claim form documented proof of ordinary losses as a result of the data breach are eligible to receive a one-time cash payment of up to $425, the site says.
Per court documents, reimbursable losses include costs related to credit repair services, freezing credit, account fees and professional fees. The $425 cap, the settlement website adds, also includes reimbursement for a maximum of four hours of lost time, at a rate of $20 per hour, for time spent remedying issues from the Restek data breach.
According to the site, class members who submit with their claim form documented proof of extraordinary losses are eligible to receive a one-time cash payment up to $3,500. Reimbursable expenses under the extraordinary-loss option include those related to fraud and identity theft, and must not be already covered under the ordinary loss category, the settlement website specifies.
In lieu of any documented loss payment, class members may file a claim form to receive a one-time alternative cash payment of $50.
Class members may elect to receive their reimbursement payout via check or electronic payment, and all checks must be cashed within 60 days after issuance before expiration, the settlement agreement details.
In addition to any monetary reimbursement, all settlement class members are also eligible to enroll in two free years of one-bureau credit monitoring through IDX, which provides services such as identity protection, dark web monitoring and reimbursement insurance. The settlement site specifies that class members with valid claims will be provided activation codes to access the IDX services, which must be activated within 180 days of issuance.
Finally, the settlement agreement lays out certain business practice changes by Restek as remedial relief, including enhancements to cybersecurity to prevent future data incidents.
To submit a Restek settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the unique class member ID number and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Consumers who believe they may be a class member but did not receive a copy of the settlement notice should contact the settlement administrator to confirm their identity and receive their login information.
Alternatively, class members can download a PDF of the claim form to print, fill out, and return by mail to the address listed on the first page of the document.
All Restek settlement claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by January 9, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Restek settlement agreement at a hearing on February 12, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The Restek Corporation class action lawsuit alleged that an unauthorized party breached the systems of the manufacturing company in June 2023, targeting private information. According to court documents, the consumer data that was potentially compromised during the incident included, but was not limited to, names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, identification numbers, passport numbers, financial information, digital signatures, usernames and passwords, medical information and health insurance information.
