A class action settlement with Reid Health will offer privacy protection services and cash payments to resolve a class action lawsuit that alleged that the healthcare provider knowingly disclosed patients’ personally identifiable information to third parties, including Meta, without consent.

The Reid Health class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on August 26, 2025 and covers approximately 69,210 Indiana residents who are or were Reid Health patients and whose private information was allegedly disclosed to third parties by Reid Health via any tracking, analytics and/or advertising technologies, including the Meta Pixel, embedded in its website.

Reid Health settlement class members are eligible to sign up for one year of Medical Shield using the code listed at the top of their settlement notice. Medical Shield is a medical privacy protection service that, per the settlement agreement, offers $1,000,000 identity theft insurance, real-time authentication alerts, security freeze assistance, victim assistance services and monitoring of the dark web, medical record numbers, healthcare insurance plan IDs, Medicare beneficiary identifiers, health savings accounts and more.
Instructions on how to complete the Medical Shield enrollment process will be sent to class members within 45 days of the court granting final approval to the Reid Health settlement.
Additionally, Reid Health class members who submit a timely, valid claim form will be able to receive a $25 cash payment.
To submit a claim form online, class members can visit this page of the Reid Health settlement website and log in with the unique ID and PIN found in their copy of the settlement notice.
Alternatively, a PDF of the claim form is available to print, fill out and mail back to the address listed on the first page of the form.
All claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by December 24, 2025.
A hearing is scheduled for December 9, 2025 to determine whether the class action settlement will receive final approval from the court. Settlement benefits will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The Reid Health class action lawsuit claimed that the healthcare provider used various tracking, analytics and advertising technologies to knowingly transmit patients’ personal and medical information to third parties, including Meta (formerly known as Facebook), without consent.
