Olinsky & Associates Settlement Offers $40 Cash, Credit Monitoring to Resolve Data Breach Lawsuit

Olinsky & Associates, PLLC (also known as Olinsky Law Group) has agreed to a class action settlement offering $40 cash payments and credit monitoring to resolve a lawsuit filed against the Syracuse, New York, disability law firm over a data breach discovered in January 2025.

The Olinsky data breach settlement received preliminary approval from the court on August 12, 2026. Eligible for the settlement are all individuals identified by Olinsky & Associates, PLLC as among those impacted by the data breach discovered on or around January 28, 2025, including all who were sent notice of the cyber incident. 

The court-approved Olinsky Law Group settlement website can be found at OlinskyDataSettlement.com. 

Settlement class members will automatically receive a $40 cash payout, with no proof or claim form required. Cash payments from the Olinsky settlement will be sent to each class member’s last known mailing address. 

In addition, all class members have been sent an enrollment code on their settlement notice for three years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete, which includes one-bureau credit monitoring, financial transaction monitoring, identity theft insurance and more. 

Class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice to update their contact information and/or preferred payment method. Contact information and/or payment method changes must be completed by December 2, 2026. 

Class members can sign up for an email reminder with enrollment instructions for CyEx Financial Shield Complete by entering their login ID and PIN on this page. 

The court will decide whether to grant final approval to the Olinsky & Associates settlement following a hearing on December 2, 2026. Settlement benefits will become available after the deal receives final approval and any appeals are resolved. 

The data breach lawsuit against Olinsky & Associates alleged that the nationwide disability law firm failed to adequately protect sensitive information on its systems from unauthorized access in the run-up to a data breach discovered in January 2025.

Per court documents, information potentially impacted during the incident included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, account details, medical records, disability payment information, health insurance details and more.
