NorthBay Healthcare Settlement Ends Class Action Lawsuit Over Alleged Meta Pixel Data Sharing

A NorthBay Healthcare settlement offers cash and privacy protection services to patient portal accountholders whose data may have been tracked.
NorthBay Healthcare Corporation has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit that alleged the California-based healthcare provider unlawfully disclosed sensitive patient information to third parties via hidden tracking tools, including the Meta pixel, embedded on its website.

The NorthBay Healthcare class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on November 11, 2025 and covers approximately 33,540 California residents whose personal and/or health information was or may have been disclosed to an unauthorized third party through any tracking tools on the NorthBay Healthcare website or online patient portal between November 29, 2020 and May 14, 2024.

According to the website, NorthBay Healthcare settlement class members do not need to submit a claim form to automatically receive a code for one free year of CyEx Privacy Shield Pro, a privacy service designed to enhance consumer data security and protection online. Enrollment codes for this service will be issued with the NorthBay Healthcare settlement notice to consumers sent via email or mailed to their residential address, the settlement agreement notes.
Settlement class members who submit a valid, timely claim form are additionally eligible to receive a one-time cash payment of $15. The settlement agreement outlines that no proof is required to receive benefits, and class members may elect to receive their payout via electronic payment or a physical check, which must be cashed within 180 days of issuance.
To submit a NorthBay Healthcare claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the unique class member ID and PIN provided on their copy of the settlement notice. Consumers who believe they may be a NorthBay Healthcare settlement class member but did not receive a notice with a CyEx enrollment code and claimant login details can contact the settlement administrator to confirm their identity and receive their login information.
Alternatively, class members may download a PDF of the claim form from the settlement site to print, fill out and return by mail to the address of the settlement administrator listed on the second page of the document.
All NorthBay Healthcare settlement claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by March 12, 2026.
Finally, as part of the settlement, NorthBay Healthcare has also agreed to implement a new privacy and data security platform on its websites to prevent the transmission of personal data through online tracking tools.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the NorthBay Healthcare class action settlement at a hearing on March 19, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to consumers only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The NorthBay Healthcare class action lawsuit alleged that the company secretly tracked the sensitive information of California patients and disclosed it to third parties, including Meta and Google, by way of embedded online tracking technologies, like the Meta Pixel.
