An individual formerly employed by Meriwether County Fire Rescue claims he routinely worked 40-plus hours per week without overtime pay.
A firefighter formerly employed by Meriwether County, Georgia has sued the county to recover allegedly unpaid overtime wages. The plaintiff, who responded to medical calls for Meriwether County Fire Rescue from January 2011 through June 2017, claims he routinely worked in excess of 40 hours per week as part of his regular job duties without being paid time-and-a-half overtime wages. According to the complaint, the defendant continued to fail to pay firefighters proper overtime wages despite the non-exempt nature of their jobs.
