The Lucent Health Solutions class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on May 5, 2026. The agreement covers all individuals whose private information was implicated in the October 2023 data breach, including all those who were sent notice of the incident.
Court documents state that there are approximately 37,000 people covered by the class action settlement.
The court-approved website for the Lucent Health data breach settlement can be found at LHDataBreachSettlement.com.
LH settlement class members who file a valid, timely claim form can receive up to $550 for “ordinary” out-of-pocket expenses incurred between October 2, 2023 and September 5, 2026 due to the breach. This benefit covers the costs of credit reports, credit monitoring, freezing or unfreezing credit, replacement IDs, postage and more.
Additionally, class members can file a claim form to receive up to $5,500 for “extraordinary” out-of-pocket expenses incurred between October 2, 2023 and September 5, 2026. This benefit covers losses arising from fraud or identity theft caused by the breach.
Class members must submit proof, such as receipts, to receive payouts for out-of-pocket losses.
In addition to these benefits, class members can also file a claim form to receive reimbursement for up to five hours of lost time spent responding to the breach, at a rate of $25 per hour, for a maximum of $125. This benefit covers time spent changing passwords, investigating suspicious account activity, researching the breach and more.
In lieu of any other monetary benefit, class members can file a claim form to receive an $80 alternative cash payment with no proof required.
Court documents state that there is an aggregate cap of $1,950,000 for all cash benefits. Should the value of all filed claims exceed this limit, cash payments to class members may be reduced on a pro rata (equal-share) basis.
Finally, in addition to any monetary relief, all class members can file a claim to receive an enrollment code for three years of CyEx Medical Shield Complete, which includes one-bureau credit monitoring and medical identity theft insurance.
To file an LH settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF of the claim form to print, fill out and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
All LH settlement claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by September 5, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Lucent Health Solutions settlement following a hearing on September 9, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The Lucent Health Solutions class action lawsuit alleged that the Nashville-based health benefits solutions company for self-insured employers failed to implement adequate cybersecurity measures to safeguard its systems, which allegedly allowed cybercriminals to gain access to the personally identifiable and protected health information in its care by way of a corporate email account on or around October 2, 2023. According to court documents, the exposed data may have included names, dates of birth and health insurance information.
