Lawsuit Claims Arrowhead Lock & Safe Failed to Pay Wages, Insurance Stipend
Last Updated on May 8, 2018
Bowen v. Arrowhead Lock & Safe, Inc. et al.
Filed: November 3, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-04418-ELR
An employee charges Arrowhead Lock & Safe owes not only unpaid wages, but promised stipends in exchange for employees buying their own health insurance.
Atlanta’s Arrowhead Lock & Safe, Inc. and its owner are staring down a proposed collective action filed by an employee who claims he was not paid proper wages, nor a promised stipend in lieu of benefits. The plaintiff says that in addition to his regular pay, he should have received a $150 per month stipend in exchange for buying his own health insurance, as well as 50 percent of charges paid by customers for after-hours calls. According to the complaint, the plaintiff worked roughly 60 hours per week without being paid time-and-a-half overtime for all hours worked past 40 each week.
The man claims he only received his after-hours-call cut twice, with the compensation being coded in payroll records as “reimbursement,” and only received his per-month insurance stipend once in his 11 months working for the defendants.
