The Husqvarna grass trimmer settlement received preliminary approval from the court on September 2, 2025. The class action settlement covers anyone in the United States who purchased one of the following models of Husqvarna gas-powered grass trimmer on or before November 13, 2023:
- 130C (SKU # 970514301, 970514302, 970514303, 970694601, 970694701);
- 130L (SKU # 970514401, 970514402, 970514403, 970694801, 970694901); and
- 330LK (SKU #970514501, 970514502, 970514503, 970514504, 970545001).
The court-approved website for the Husqvarna settlement can be found at GrassTrimmerSettlement.com.
According to the settlement agreement, any consumer who has already had their Husqvarna grass trimmer serviced pursuant to the February 2024 United States Consumer Product Safety Commission recall is not eligible to participate in the settlement. Also excluded are consumers who purchased an eligible grass trimmer for resale.
Per the agreement, each class member who files a valid, timely claim form is eligible to receive a $45 voucher redeemable online or at authorized Husqvarna dealerships. Consumers can choose to receive the voucher through the mail or via email, and class members with more than one qualifying trimmer can submit multiple claims, the settlement site says.
The settlement website specifies that in order to receive benefits from the deal, a class member must first participate in the CPSC recall and receive a free repair for their grass trimmer through an authorized Husqvarna dealer.
Once repairs are complete, a class member can visit this page to fill out and submit the Husqvarna settlement claim form online.
Alternatively, a PDF of the Husqvarna claim form is available to print, fill out and mail back to the settlement administrator.
Claim forms must be filed online or by mail by January 2, 2026.
In addition to the voucher, Husqvarna is offering through the settlement a one-year extension on its limited product warranty, and a three-year extension for the ignition parts on trimmers repaired within one year of October 3, 2025.
A final fairness hearing will be held on February 2, 2026, at which time the court will decide whether to ultimately approve the Husqvarna settlement. It is only after the court has granted final approval to a settlement, and any appeals have been resolved, that benefits will begin to be distributed to eligible class members.
Class members who do not wish to be part of the lawsuit must go to the settlement page and opt out by December 2, 2025.
According to the CPSC, the Husqvarna gas-powered grass trimmers at issue were plagued by incorrect wiring in the ignition module, which could cause an electrical spark or arcing and could pose a fire hazard if gasoline was on or near the unit. Roughly 403,000 grass trimmers were recalled, and the CPSC urged consumers to immediately stop using the tools and contact an authorized dealer to receive a free repair.
