Haney Truck Line, LLC is facing a proposed class action lawsuit filed by a Washington man who was formerly employed by the company as a truck driver. He claims the defendant violated state labor laws by failing to compensate him for rest periods, as well as provide him with inaccurate wage statements.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff and other truck drivers were paid on a piece-rate basis (calculated based on miles driven or loads hauled) rather than hourly, meaning their employer was required under state law to compensate them for the time they spent taking rest breaks. The suit alleges Haney Truck Line failed to pay employees their due wages for breaks, and thereby failed to provide them with accurate wage statements.
