Two former employees of Super Mercado Jalisco stores have filed suit against their six operating companies and four individuals who control the business over claims that they denied workers proper overtime wages.
Two former employees of Super Mercado Jalisco stores have filed suit against their six operating companies and four individuals who control the business over claims that they denied workers proper overtime wages. According to the suit, the defendants paid employees according to their straight-time hourly rate for all hours worked, regardless of whether their total hours exceeded 40 each week. One of the plaintiffs, who was employed as a general laborer says he worked approximately 61 hours per week and is owed $2,310 in unpaid overtime. The other plaintiff, who was employed as a cook and cashier, says she regularly worked 49 hours per week and is owed $1,336.50 in unpaid overtime.
