A former employee of Medix Staffing Solutions, Inc. has filed suit against the company over allegations that it failed to pay her and other “credentialed trainers” proper overtime wages. The plaintiff, who was employed by Medix from January 2016 to May 2017, says she often worked 50 hours per week and that “nearly all of her time” was spent performing non-exempt activities for which she was entitled to overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Nevertheless, she and other trainers were paid at their hourly rate for all hours worked instead of receiving overtime wages for the hours they worked above 40 each week, the complaint alleges.
