The Brodart Co. class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on December 30, 2025 and covers 1,814 United States residents whose workers’ compensation audit files—which contained unredacted Social Security numbers—were compromised in the October 2023 Brodart data breach.
The court-approved website for the Brodart settlement can be found at BrodartDataSettlement.com.
Only Brodart settlement class members who file a timely, valid claim form will be eligible to receive benefits from the deal.
All Brodart settlement claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by May 8, 2026.
To submit a claim form online, class members can visit this page of the settlement website and log in with the unique ID and PIN found in their copy of the settlement notice.
Alternatively, consumers can download a PDF claim form to print, fill out and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
According to the Brodart settlement website, eligible class members who submit a valid claim form will be able to receive a year of complimentary credit monitoring services, which include identity theft insurance, three-bureau credit file monitoring and more.
In addition, the site says consumers can elect to receive either a one-time $45 cash payment or reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses, losses related to identity theft or fraud, and/or lost time spent dealing with the effects of the data breach.
Per the settlement website, class members can file a claim form for reimbursement of up to $1,000 for documented out-of-pocket expenses related to the incident. The site states that qualifying losses must have occurred between October 14, 2023 and May 7, 2026 and may include the cost of ID replacement, postage charges, fees related to credit monitoring or credit freezes, and other miscellaneous expenses.
The website further relays that consumers may submit a claim form for up to four hours of lost time spent responding to the data breach, at a rate of $20 per hour and subject to the $1,000 cap for out-of-pocket expenses.
Moreover, the site says that class members who lost money due to identity theft or fraud are eligible to receive reimbursement of up to $2,500. In order to claim this benefit, class members must demonstrate that the theft or fraud was likely caused by the Brodart data breach and that attempts were made to prevent the loss, the website notes, adding that qualifying losses must not be covered already by any aforementioned benefits.
Eligible identity theft- or fraud-related losses must have occurred between October 14, 2023 and May 7, 2026 and must be supported by reasonable documentation, such as receipts, the site shares.
As part of the deal, Brodart has also agreed to implement changes to its data security measures and practices to help prevent future incidents, the settlement agreement states.
A hearing is scheduled for July 16, 2026 to determine whether the Brodart class action settlement will receive final approval from the court. Settlement benefits will begin to be distributed to eligible class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The Brodart Co. class action lawsuit claimed that the October 2023 cyberattack exposed the sensitive personal information of current and former employees, including names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, credit and/or debit card details, phone numbers, financial account information, driver’s license or other government ID numbers, addresses and medical information.
