Boone Health has agreed to a settlement to resolve a lawsuit that alleged the network shared patients’ info via tracking tech in its online patient portal.

Boone Health, Inc. has agreed to a class action settlement to resolve a lawsuit that alleged the Columbia, Missouri healthcare network wrongfully shared patients’ information with third parties via tracking technologies implemented in its online patient portal.

The Boone Health and Boone Hospital Center class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on September 3, 2026. Eligible to participate in the settlement are all Boone Health patients who reside in Missouri and logged into the Boone Health patient portal (BoonePortal.Meditech.Cloud) at any time between April 1, 2021 and December 5, 2022.
Court documents state that approximately 22,197 Boone Health patients are covered by the class action settlement.

Settlement class members who file a valid, timely claim form can receive a $20 cash payout from the class action settlement.
In addition, all class members have the option to sign up for CyEx Privacy Shield Pro, a digital privacy and identity-protection service, via the enrollment code listed at the top of their settlement notice. The service includes a VPN, password defense, data broker opt-out, a digital file vault and more.
As part of the settlement, Boone Health has also agreed to not use the Meta Pixel, Google Analytics or any similar third-party tracking technologies in its patient portal for three years following the date of final approval.
To file a Boone Health settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and password found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete and return by mail to the settlement administrator.
Boone Health settlement claim forms must be filed online or by mail by November 9, 2026.
The court will decide whether to grant final approval to the Boone Health patient privacy settlement following a hearing on December 1, 2026. Settlement benefits will be made available after the deal receives final approval and any appeals are resolved.
The class action lawsuit against Boone Health alleged that the healthcare provider unlawfully used third-party tracking technologies within its patient portal, causing the transmission of patients’ information to third parties without consent.
