The Alamo Drafthouse class action settlement received preliminary court approval on August 6, 2025 and covers anyone in the U.S. who, from August 29, 2022 through January 30, 2024, purchased electronic tickets via the Alamo Drafthouse website (www.Drafthouse.com) to any film showing at any Alamo-owned cinema in New York state and was charged a convenience fee.
The court-approved website for the Alamo Drafthouse settlement can be found at AlamoTicketFeeSettlement.com.
Alamo settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form will be able to receive a pro-rata, or equal-share, portion of the $7,075,000 settlement fund. The settlement website states that the amount each class member may receive from the settlement will ultimately depend on the total number of valid claims filed.
To submit a claim form online, class members must visit this page and log in with the unique ID and PIN found in their copy of the Alamo Drafthouse settlement notice.
If you are unable to locate your unique settlement ID, you may enter your Alamo Theaters account email address here.
Alternatively, a PDF of the claim form is available to print, fill out and mail back to the address listed on the first page of the form.
All class action settlement claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by December 22, 2025.
Additionally, as part of the class action settlement, Alamo Drafthouse has agreed to ensure that, moving forward, any convenience fees are clearly and conspicuously disclosed prior to ticket purchases on their website.
A hearing is set for November 5, 2025 to determine whether the settlement will receive final approval from the court. Settlement payments will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The Alamo Drafthouse class action lawsuit claimed that the company did not adequately disclose the convenience fees included in the purchase of electronic movie tickets on its website, in violation of the New York Arts and Cultural Affairs Law.
