A $5.5 million class action settlement is set to resolve litigation against Formula One Digital Media over its alleged sharing of users’ personally identifiable information and video viewing history with unrelated third parties.

The Formula One class action settlement received preliminary court approval on June 25, 2025 and covers anyone in the U.S. who had a Formula One account and watched a pre-recorded video on Formula1.com, F1.TV.Formula1.com or any Formula One app between May 1, 2022 and June 24, 2025.
The court-approved website for the Formula One settlement can be found at Formula1USVPPASettlement.com.
Formula One settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form may receive a cash payment of up to $17. These cash payments may be reduced on a pro-rata, or equal-share, basis depending on the number of valid claims filed.
To submit a claim form online, class members can visit this page on the settlement website and log in with the unique ID and PIN found in the settlement notice sent out to class members via email.
Alternatively, a PDF of the claim form is available to print, fill out and mail back to the address listed on the first page of the form.
Spanish-language versions of both the settlement notice and the claim form are also available on the Formula One class action settlement website.
All claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by September 22, 2025.
There will be a hearing on October 30, 2025 to determine if the settlement will receive final court approval. Cash payments will begin to be distributed only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The class action lawsuit against Formula One Digital Media alleged that the F1 TV service was sharing users’ personally identifiable information and entire video viewing histories with unrelated third parties without users’ knowledge or consent, in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act.
