A $3.25M Progressive Leasing settlement offers cash and credit monitoring to individuals who may have been impacted by a Sept. 2023 data breach.
Progressive Leasing LLC has agreed to a $3,250,000 class action settlement to wrap up a lawsuit that alleged the lease-to-own financing company failed to prevent an unauthorized third party from accessing the private consumer information stored in its systems.

The Progressive Leasing class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on November 5, 2025 and covers all United States residents who were sent notice indicating that their private information may have been compromised in the Progressive Leasing data breach.
The court-approved website for the Progressive Leasing settlement can be found at https://www.PLSettlement.com/.
According to the settlement agreement, Progressive Leasing settlement class members who submit a valid, timely claim form have multiple options for reimbursement. Those who submit with their claim form documented proof of out-of-pocket losses stemming from the data breach are eligible to receive a one-time cash payment of up to $5,000. The site adds that data breach-related expenses covered under this reimbursement option must be fairly traceable to the September 2023 data breach and include costs related to identity theft, fraud, and credit monitoring and/or repair costs.
In lieu of a payment for documented out-of-pocket losses, settlement class members with valid claims are eligible to receive a one-time cash payment of up to $400, the settlement website says. According to the settlement agreement, the amount each class member may receive from the deal will be determined on a claims-made basis by dividing the money that remains in the net settlement fund after the payment of attorneys’ fees, service awards, settlement administration costs and other settlement benefits by the number of class members who claim this reimbursement option.
In addition to either cash payment, Progressive Leasing settlement class members who resided in California during the data breach are eligible to receive a one-time cash payment of up to $100 on a claims-made basis for statutory damages under state law, the agreement states.
Class members may elect to receive their cash payouts via check or electronic payment, the agreement confirms, and all checks must be cashed within 90 days after issuance before expiration.
Finally, in addition to any monetary reimbursement, all class members are eligible to receive two free years of three-bureau credit monitoring from IDX, which the settlement agreement says provides credit alerts, dark web scanning, reimbursement insurance, identity protection, and advisory services.
To submit a Progressive Leasing claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the class member ID and passcode found on their copy of the settlement notice. Consumers who believe they may be a settlement class member but did not receive a notice should contact the settlement administrator to confirm their identity and receive their login information.
Alternatively, class members can download a PDF of the claim form to print, fill out, and return by mail to the address listed at the top of the document.
All Progressive Leasing claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by January 22, 2026.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Progressive Leasing class action settlement at a hearing on February 6, 2026. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The Progressive Leasing class action lawsuit claimed that an unauthorized party gained access to the company’s networks during a September 2023 cybersecurity incident, which allegedly compromised the private information of customers and employees. Per court documents, the private data accessed during the data breach included, but was not limited to, names, contact information, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, bank account numbers, income information, and credit information.
