Bishop Gold Group is set to pay a $2 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit that alleged the company sent an unlawfully excessive amount of marketing text messages within a 12-month period.

The Bishop Gold Group class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on August 7, 2025, and covers the approximately 20,000 consumers who, from August 2021 to the present, received more than one marketing text from the company during 12-month period after requesting to unsubscribe or opt out from the messaging.

Bishop settlement class members who submit a valid, timely claim form can receive a one-time, pro-rated cash payment from the expected leftover settlement fund, after the payment of attorneys’ fees and costs, plaintiff service awards, and settlement administration costs. The exact amount of each consumer’s cash payout will be determined by the total number of valid claims submitted by eligible class members.
Class action settlement documents add that the payment will be issued via check, and class members will have 60 days to cash their check after the date of issuance before it expires.
To submit a Bishop settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the class member ID found on their copy of the settlement notice. Consumers who believe they may be a class member but did not receive a class action settlement notice can contact the settlement administrator to confirm their identity and receive their login ID.
Alternatively, a class member can download a PDF of the claim form to print, fill out, and return by mail to the address listed near the top of the form.
Bishop TCPA settlement claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by December 5, 2022.
The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the Bishop settlement at a hearing on November 20, 2025. Compensation will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval is granted and any appeals are resolved.
The Bishop Gold Group class action lawsuit claimed that individuals who requested not to receive additional marketing texts during the four years prior to case filing were sent more than one within a 12-month period, in violation of the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Florida Telephone Solicitation Act.
