American Well Corp. (Amwell) has agreed to a more than $2 million settlement to wrap up a lawsuit that alleged the telehealth company unlawfully disclosed LiveHealth Online users’ medical information and confidential communications to third parties without consent.

The $2,037,751.46 LiveHealth Online class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on July 31, 2026. Eligible to participate in the settlement are all individuals in the United States who used the appointment booking tool on the LiveHealth Online website (LiveHealthOnline.com), the LiveHealth Online iOS app or the LiveHealth Online Android app between October 2024 and August 2025.

Court documents state that approximately 252,478 people are covered by the settlement.

The court-approved website for the LiveHealth Online class action settlement can be found at LiveHealthOnlineSettlement.com.

LiveHealth Online settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form can receive an estimated $51.14 to $102.29 pro rata cash payment, with no proof required.

The final amount of each class member’s cash payment will depend on the total number of valid claims filed, among other factors.

To submit a LiveHealth settlement claim form online, class members can head to this page and enter the login ID and PIN found on their copy of the settlement notice. Alternatively, class members can download a PDF claim form to print, complete and return by mail to the settlement administrator.

All LiveHealth Online settlement claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by October 30, 2026.

The court will determine whether to grant final approval to the LiveHealth Online settlement following a hearing on January 15, 2027. Settlement money will begin to be distributed to class members only after the deal receives final approval and any appeals have been resolved.

The LiveHealth Online class action lawsuit alleged that the telehealth platform unlawfully disclosed users’ medical information and confidential communications to third parties, including Heap Inc., without consent, in violation of the federal Wiretap Act and California’s Invasion of Privacy Act and Confidentiality of Medical Information Act.
