A former employee of 111 Hudson Market has filed suit against the deli’s operating company and two individuals who control the business over claims that the defendants violated several provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York State Labor Law. The plaintiff says he was employed in the market’s flower shop and regularly worked between 68 and 74 hours per week throughout his employment. According to the suit, he was paid a fixed weekly salary without receiving overtime or spread-of-hours wages and was denied breaks of any kind. Additionally, the complaint alleges, the defendants failed to provide him with required wage statements and notices detailing his rights under federal and state law.
