The UnitedHealth class action settlement, which received preliminary court approval on March 26, 2025, covers all consumers who, between December 11, 2019 and March 27, 2025, had a cellphone number assigned to a wireless carrier that was called using a pre-recorded or artificial voice by Optum Community Health Workers as part of the Optum at Home program, despite not being a member or subscriber of United Healthcare or having previously opted out of UnitedHealth phone calls.
The official website for the UnitedHealth-Optum at Home settlement can be found at CHWTCPASettlement.com.
UnitedHealth settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form may receive a pro rata payout from the $1,846,500 class action settlement fund. Class members may submit one claim form for each phone number of theirs that was affected by the allegedly non-consensual Optum at Home calls, the settlement site relays.
Class members can file a claim form online by navigating to the Submit Claim tab on the settlement website and logging in with the Class Member ID that can be found in the settlement notice that all class members should have received.
Alternatively, class members can download a PDF copy of the claim form to print, fill out and return by mail to the address listed on page one of the form.
All class members who file a claim form must include the affected phone numbers. All claims must be submitted by June 24, 2025.
There will be a court hearing on August 4, 2025 to determine if the settlement will receive final approval. If final approval is granted, and after an appeals are resolved, settlement payments will be directly distributed to class members by the settlement administrator.
The UnitedHealth class action lawsuit alleged that the health insurer violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by sending pre-recorded or artificially voiced calls to customers without consent.
