$1.23M+ AutoZone Settlement Ends Class Action Lawsuit Over Alleged Data Tracking

A $1.23M+ settlement ends a lawsuit that alleged AutoZone allowed a third party to secretly track certain website visitors' mouse movements and clicks.

AutoZone will pay more than $1.23 million to settle a class action lawsuit that alleged the auto parts retailer allowed a third-party vendor to illegally track the mouse movements and clicks of Pennsylvania residents who visited its website.

The up to $1,233,820 AutoZone class action settlement received preliminary approval from the court on July 16, 2025 and covers anyone who, between January 1, 2022 and the present, was a resident of Pennsylvania, was not an AutoZone Rewards member and placed an order on AutoZone.com while the website was equipped with session replay tracking technology.
The court-approved website for the AutoZone class action settlement can be found at AZ-Settlement.com.
AutoZone settlement class members who submit a timely, valid claim form will be able to receive a $20 cash payment.
To submit a claim form online, class members can visit this page of the settlement website and log in with the unique notice ID and confirmation code found in their copy of the AutoZone settlement notice.
Alternatively, a PDF of the claim form is available to print, fill out and mail back to the address listed at the bottom of the form.
All claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked by November 13, 2025.
A hearing is scheduled for November 25, 2025 to determine whether the AutoZone class action settlement will receive final court approval. Payments will begin to be distributed to class members only after final approval has been granted and any appeals have been resolved.
The AutoZone class action lawsuit claimed that the company violated the Pennsylvania Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance Control Act by installing on its website third-party “session replay” technology that allowed companies such as Tealeaf, Quantum Metric and Glassbox to secretly intercept consumers’ behavior on the AutoZone website, including mouse movements, clicks, keystrokes, search terms and identifying data without consent.
