Business telecommunications vendor Shoretel SC LLC is facing a class action lawsuit claiming the company violated the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) with its overtime pay practices. Filed by former call center workers who worked six days a week, the suit contends that the defendant did not pay them for 10 to 12 hours of overtime work per week or an hourly rate for work done on Saturdays. Instead, the plaintiffs say, they were compensated with a “bonus” between $50 and $80 for Saturday work. The suit also claims plaintiffs were never given a meal break of at least 30 minutes even though time spent on meal breaks was deducted from their pay. Lastly, the suit posits that plaintiffs and class members were not paid for off-the-clock work, which included attending mandatory pre-shift meetings.
