Vogue International Facing Class Action Over Proganix Repair Product Claims

McBride v. Vogue International LLC
Filed: October 4, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-07594
Vogue International LLC is facing a lawsuit claiming its Proganix Repair line shampoos, conditioners and oils do not perform as advertised.
Vogue International LLC finds itself as the defendant in a New York consumer’s proposed class action lawsuit that alleges the company’s Proganix Repair line of shampoos, conditioners and oils is not capable of repairing damaged hair because, despite the company’s claims, the products contain no ingredients that are capable of doing so.
“Hair is primarily composed of a family of proteins call keratin. Hair cannot be repaired once damaged through heat treatments, daily brushing, and other quotidian acts because keratin is inorganic, ‘dead’ matter,” the 30-page lawsuit reads. “While the products might create the temporary illusion that the consumer’s hair has been repaired, this is indeed an illusion because nothing in the products can mend damaged keratin proteins.”
The complaint alleges the defendant profited off thousands of New York consumers who purchased Proganix “Repair” products as a result of Vogue International’s “false and misleading advertising message.”
