A proposed class action lawsuit filed in Mississippi claims the Panola County Board of Supervisors violated the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) by failing to pay 911 dispatchers proper overtime wages. The plaintiff, who stills works as a dispatcher for Panola County, claims she and similarly situated employees worked well over 40 hours per week without being paid at the time-and-a-half hourly overtime rate.
The proposed class covered by the suit includes all E-911 dispatchers who worked for the defendants within the last three years who were not paid at the time-and-a-half hourly overtime rate for all hours worked over 40.
