A Florida woman claims in a proposed class action that defendants Janki Hospitality Inc. and its owner unlawfully misclassified her as exempt as a means of avoiding their obligation to pay her time-and-a-half overtime wages for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. The plaintiff, who currently works for the defendants as a housekeeper and maid, says she has worked more than eight hours per day six days a week without proper overtime pay.
