Hotel De Point, LLC is the defendant in a blind man's proposed class action claiming the company's website is not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Flushing, New York’s Hotel De Point, LLC is the defendant in a blind New York man’s proposed class action claiming the company’s website, Hoteldepoint.com, is unlawfully non-compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In the lawsuit, the plaintiff claims the defendant systematically violates the rights of blind and visually impaired folks with its choice to use on its website an “exclusively visual interface” that makes it “difficult, if not impossible” for hard-of-sight users to engage in its goods and services. According to the plaintiff, he intended to book a room reservation on Hoteldepoint.com, but was unable to due to obstructive accessibility barriers.
