Filed: April 3, 2017 ◆§ 6:17-cv-00578-RBD-TBS
GMR International Cuisine, Inc., which does business as Gilson's Brazilian Restaurant, and its owner are on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit.
GMR International Cuisine, Inc., which does business as Gilson’s Brazilian Restaurant, and its owner are on the receiving end of a proposed class action lawsuit alleging that they “knowingly, willfully, or with reckless disregard” failed to pay employees proper overtime wages in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. The suit argues that employees worked more than 40 hours per week for multiple weeks, but were not paid time-and-a-half overtime wages for the hours they worked above 40. The plaintiff demands relief from this “illegal pattern” of unpaid overtime on behalf of all servers who worked for the defendants in the state of Florida within the past three years.
