A lawsuit claiming Burger King printed too many customer payment details on receipts has been bumped to district court for the Southern District of FL.

A proposed class action lawsuit filed in late October 2017 against Burger King Corporation has been removed to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The plaintiff’s lawsuit alleges Burger King violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) by printing a point-of-sale receipt in June 2017 that displayed the first six and last four digits of the man’s credit card.
“The inclusion of the first six digits of [the plaintiff’s] card numbers on his receipts reduced the number of digits an identity thief would need to obtain thereby reducing the difficulty of guessing the card numbers in a way which can be calculated with mathematical precision,” the complaint asserts.
