Adams v. EQT Corporation
Filed: June 28, 2017 ◆§ 2:17-cv-00853-DSC
A class action claims natural gas exploration company EQT Corporation misclassified workers as independent contractors and owes unpaid overtime wages.
An individual formerly employed as a completions consultant by EQT Corporation has filed a proposed class/collective action against the natural gas exploration company alleging he and others are owed unpaid overtime wages due to being misclassified as independent contractors. Citing potential violations of state and federal labor statutes, the plaintiff claims he and similarly situated oilfield workers were paid under a day-rate system, receiving a flat amount regardless of the number of past-40 overtime hours worked each week.
