A $1 million class action settlement resolves a lawsuit filed over allegations that The Cowboy Channel disclosed subscribers’ personally identifiable information to Google, Meta, and Yahoo without consent.

The Cowboy Channel settlement, which received preliminary approval from the court on March 28, 2025, covers all individuals in the United States who have or had a subscription to Cowboy Channel Plus from September 25, 2022 through and including October 9, 2024.
The court-approved class action settlement website can be found at CowboyChannelVPPASettlement.com.
Settlement class members who file a valid claim form are eligible to receive a pro rata portion of the million dollar settlement.
To file a Cowboy Channel claim form online, head to this page and log in with the unique ID and PIN found in the class notice you may have received. Alternatively, you may download and fill out the PDF version of the claim form and mail it to the address listed near the top of the page.
A submitted claim form must include the email address associated with your CowboyChannelPlus.com account. All claim forms must be submitted online or by mail by July 1, 2025.
A final approval hearing is scheduled for August 7, 2025, at which the court will determine whether the Cowboy Channel class action settlement will receive ultimate approval. It is typically after a class action settlement receives final approval from the court that payments begin to be distributed to eligible class members.
According to the Cowboy Channel settlement website, the amount each class member will receive will depend on the total number of valid claims filed.
The class action lawsuit against The Cowboy Channel alleged that the channel acted without the consent of its users to distribute their personal information to tech companies, violating the Video Privacy Protection Act in the process.
