Northern Inyo Hospital Security Incident: What Happened?
Northern Inyo Healthcare District, which operates as Northern Inyo Hospital, has disclosed a data breach linked to a December 2025 security incident at third-party data migration and archiving company Aesto Health.
A July 31, 2026 notice linked from the Northern Inyo Hospital website regarding the Aesto Health data breach stated that the personal and protected health information about patients of Aesto's clients may have been viewed or acquired by an unauthorized individual. This potentially included names, dates of birth, medical information, driver's license numbers, financial account numbers, health insurance information, taxpayer identification numbers, government ID numbers and Social Security numbers.
Northern Inyo Hospital has started to send notices from Aesto to individuals affected by the incident; a sample is shown below.
The total number of individuals impacted by the Northern Inyo Hospital data breach has not been publicly disclosed.
