Northern Inyo Hospital Security Incident: What Happened?
Northern Inyo Healthcare District, which operates as Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop, California, has disclosed a data breach linked to a December 2025 security incident at third-party data migration and archiving company Aesto Health.
A July 31, 2026 notice linked from the Northern Inyo Hospital website regarding the Aesto Health data breach stated that the personal and protected health information belonging to patients of Aesto's clients may have been viewed or acquired by an unauthorized individual. This potentially included names, dates of birth, medical information, driver's license numbers, financial account numbers, health insurance information, taxpayer identification numbers, government ID numbers and Social Security numbers, though the exposed information varied by individual.
Individuals affected by the incident are receiving notice from Aesto. A sample notice, shown below, states that the breach occurred between December 2 and December 18, 2025.
The total number of individuals impacted by the Northern Inyo Hospital data breach has not been publicly disclosed.
